Learn how to become a more durable runner!

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Stefanie Heyser and I have been an active part of the Detroit running community for over a decade now. I have a passion for educating and empowering runners to help them better reach their goals.

I’ve been coaching runners of all levels for over 10 years and am an RRCA Certified Running Coach and currently pursuing my UESCA Ultrarunning Coach Certification. I’ve been honored to be a part of the journey for many. I’ve worked with beginners, those pursuing and running the Boston Marathon, as well as ultrarunners.

I am also a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer and have been working in Sports Medicine at the Henry Ford Detroit Piston’s Performance Center since it opened in 2019. I work with youth to adults from high school athletes to USFL players and of course plenty of runners. My favorite part of my job is getting the athlete back out to their chosen playground.

Below you will see programming and options to work with me. When working together on an individual basis we will always start with an assessment so that we can put together a program that works for you and your lifestyle. Prior to the assessment or at the assessment we will discuss goals, nutrition, running form and do a movement analysis to determine areas that lack mobility and those that lack strength. It doesn’t matter which program you choose, you will receive a set of exercises that are tailored specifically to your deficits so that you can become a more durable runner.

How To Work With Me

Endurance

Includes programming for specific races or goals you have in mind.

I will create a training outline for your target goals and you will receive weekly workouts via TrainingPeaks app. I create programs for beginners to ultramarathoners. However, I am currently only taking clients for trail running and road marathons. The assessment for this package is $150 and the monthly fee is $100 per month.

Strength

Includes programming for strength training.

We will meet for an assessment that also includes education on form for basic lifts and walk through exercises based on your running and strength goals. From there I will create an excel spreadsheet with your weekly strength workouts. Typically strength workouts are the same or similar for 4-8 weeks and therefore will need to be progressed every 4-8 weeks. The strength workouts will be designed to compliment your running goals and improve durability. The assessment for this package is $150 and the monthly fee is $100 per month.

Tune Up

A tune up is a one time session to address and manage physical imbalances that could be causing some minor aches and pains.

We will do a brief assessment and from there I will provide hands on body work which may include soft tissue mobilization, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (scrapping), muscle energy, and joint mobility. It will also include guidance of exercises to address these imbalances. This is not designed to replace formal physical therapy but to provide a tune up if things are feeling clunky or if you feel an injury brewing or after physical therapy to improve your durability. These can be scheduled as needed and are $100 per session.
